Our work

We’re working with global stakeholders from across the concrete value chain, including ConcreteZero members, to drive action to decarbonise the concrete industry by 2050 or earlier.

How we work

Our members provide global leadership and send a powerful demand signal by making a public commitment to buy and use low emission concrete.

We support our members in their commitment by developing definitions, common indicators and measurements for the low emission concrete in support of ambitious decarbonisation.

ConcreteZero is helping us achieve our sustainability goals and futureproof our business. This partnership signifies a transformative journey towards sustainable construction, where ecological responsibility aligns seamlessly with economic prudence. Together, we're setting a benchmark for sustainable practices in the construction industry.

UK

We work with our partners in UK civil society, government and business on concrete decarbonisation. Our UK-based members include British Land, Laing O’Rourke, and WSP UK.

In collaboration with our technical partners and advisors, we run nine technical workstreams which focus on tackling the barriers to net zero by 2050.

In 2023, we collaborated with a group of civil society groups and academics to highlight the limitations of using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (known as GGBS) to reduce global emissions. Read more about this work here.

EU

EU

Together with partners, we’re engaging with EU policymakers and corporate leaders to accelerate the switch to low emission concrete. We help set European industry standards and help businesses move away from the business as usual approach.
