Yuming is our Chief Representative and Executive Director, China. He has over two decades of experience in China's sustainability and environment policy. He manages operations and leads the overall strategic development and project delivery in the region.
He brings a wealth of experience in developing leadership programs to drive China’s energy and economic transition toward a low carbon future. Working with local and international stakeholders, policymakers, and solution providers in various sectors, he advocates thought and action leadership through advancing and delivering projects which promote climate change mitigation. He brings key experience in reporting standards and best practices, which drive organisations to communicate their economic, environmental and social performances.
Prior to joining the Climate Group, Yuming had China-based leadership roles with international NGOs and businesses. He was Greater China director of the Global Reporting Initiative, senior advisor for the Rocky Mountain Institute, country manager of EcoTech International, board member of the Efficiency Evaluation Organisation, and consultant and China chief representative of the Natural Resources Defense Council.
In his early professional career Yuming was a journalist with China’s government media.
He holds two Post Graduate Diplomas, one in public policy and regional economics from the Renmin University of China and another from the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
