Jebi Rahman is the Head of Global Implementation at Climate Group, where she is responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of major projects and high impact initiatives within the Governments and Policy department. She joined the organisation in September 2018 as Team Lead for the Climate Footprint Project, which supported governments in developing and emerging economies to improve their greenhouse gas emissions tracking and reduction efforts. Between 2021 and 2023, she was the Head of Transparency and Pathways, steering the Under2 Coalition Secretariat’s accountability and long-term decarbonisation workstreams.
Jebi has been delivering international and sustainable development projects and programmes for over fifteen years, covering a range of issues including poverty alleviation, quality education, gender equality and climate change; and in the process, building leadership, partnerships and networks. Previously she has worked for BRAC (one of the world’s largest NGOs), LEAD (Leadership for Environment and Development) International and India, CDKN (Climate and Development Knowledge Network), LEDS (Low Emission Development Strategies) Global Partnership, and Girl Effect. She has gained in-depth country experience living and working in Bangladesh, India, Japan, South Africa and South Sudan.
Jebi holds an MA (Honours) in English Literature from the University of Glasgow and MSc in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford. In 2010, she co-led a 7-day charity bike ride from Sylhet to Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh to highlight the impacts of climate change. Since 2020, she has been dedicated to the Climate Decade’s goal of halving global emissions by 2030 and achieving greater prosperity for all.
