Over this past year, state and regional governments have continued to step in and step up where it matters: leading the way on climate action.
Many more members have signed the updated Under2 MOU and 27 new states and regions joined our number. In doing so, they have pledged to reach net zero emissions by 2050 - or earlier - with clear pathways to get there. This is vital to our aim of becoming a net zero coalition.
2022 also marked the fifth anniversary of the Future Fund, which continues to support states and regions from emerging and developing countries both through project work and travel to international conferences so that states and regions can be heard where it matters.
We have kept up this focus on capacity building through the second phase of our Climate Footprint Project, the ZEV Community, the Just Transition Framework, and by exploring new satellite technology to provide accurate emissions data.
