Madre de Dios - Portfolio of Actions

Madre de Dios has finalised its decarbonisation pathway - using its 2030 and 2050 emissions reduction targets as a baseline. 11 mitigation actions have been selected to reach these targets. 

The government has focused primarily on the forest and land use sector, and will put a strong emphasis on management and agriculture, with the aim to reduce deforestation and maximise agricultural efficiency. 

Implementing these actions is anticipated to avoid 8.4 million tonnes of GHG emissions by 2030 and more than 18 million tonnes by 2050.
