Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) is an independent global charity with a mission to engineer a safer world.
We reduce risk and enhance the safety of the critical infrastructure that modern society relies upon in areas such as energy, transport and food. We do this by supporting high quality research, accelerating technology to application and through education and public outreach.
LRF pursues this mission across seven key safety challenges, one of which – ‘safety for a sustainable future’ – examines how we meet shared global goals for sustainability whilst also valuing safety of life and property.
One of our flagship research programmes, the World Risk Poll, includes a major thematic focus on global perceptions and experiences of climate change related risks such as severe weather, and the different forms of resilience that individuals, households, communities and societies need to cope – intelligence that can be of great use to policymakers and businesses responding to the complex and connected crises of our changing world.
